New website overhaul from ATBA (All Terrain Boarding Association)

http://www.atbauk.org/

But, the really intreaguing part of it can be found in the 'Events' part of the website....

Downhill Championship

The all-new ATBA-UK Downhill Championship will take place on the 12th and 13th of June 2010 in Cheddar, Somerset. This exciting new discipline involves riders giving it their all to get their best time down a track that will push all their skills to the limit.

.....Interesting!

All new? I remember running the first one in Dunkeld in 2005.

It's still one of my favourite events I have ever had the miss fortune to go. Probably for all the wrong reasons though. From 'treating' the riders to 3 hours of the wobblyest basslined trech house to the BBC getting bundled by team bad while trying to do a piece to camera. Oh and not forgetting one of the best prize giving's of all time. With steveB holding court on top of the Team Bad mini bus getting pelted by water balloons, happy days.

There was also some epic fire roads and craziest line through the trees for those who had bought a whole sack of nuts with them.

Hmm, sounds like someone at ATBA either chose to forget or has a short memory! Just google mapped Dunkeld - blimey thats a good drive up! Sounds like it was a good laugh - is it the one featured in Post 9 on the link below?

yup, I knew it had to be out there somewhere.

Yeah it was but well worth it. We were up a couple days before and met up with what was team Hill62 then(tris and Fayjay). Luckly Alan 'local legend' was about with his transit to show us round. Good time :-)

To be fair, it says 'all new', not 'first ever'. And it will be 'all new' in lots of ways ;)
